SUFFIELD, CT — A seven-home proposal on South Grand Street remains under review after a neighboring property owner raised concerns about wetlands and septic systems.
Peak Mountain Development LLC's plan covers about 39 acres and includes roughly 13 acres of open space, according to Sept. 22 Conservation Commission minutes.
Richard Evans, an East Granby resident whose property borders the site, questioned wetland boundaries, groundwater levels, septic setbacks and effects on wildlife and a nearby vernal pool.
As Patch previously reported, commissioners rejected an earlier application in May. That decision allowed developer Kirk McNaughton to return with a new proposal. The earlier review also raised questions about drainage, groundwater and septic systems.

At September's hearing, the applicant said septic systems had health district approval and proposed road drainage improvements to reduce flooding.
Commissioners will review Evans' submissions and await the town engineer's report. They unanimously continued the hearing to Oct. 27 for "review and response to the issues raised," the minutes state.
