SUFFIELD, CT — On Saturday, February 8 at 2 p.m. Charles Zanor will present a program entitled; BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR: THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SEPARATING YOU FROM YOUR MONEY. Charles Zanor is a psychologist and Suffield resident. His presentation is based on behavioral economics, discussing things like brand loyalty, going to the casino and shopping for sales. He recently wrote a piece on the subject for Scientific American. When we think of "economic theory”, we mostly think big - supply and demand, inflation and recession, national debt and taxes. But what does all that have to do with how we make financial decisions in our day-to-day lives? In some cases, not much. Often, how we spend or refrain from spending our money is more a matter of "behavioral economics." How much are we willing to spend on concert tickets, for example? If we buy them, would we be later willing to sell them at a higher price? What happens if circumstances make it hard for us to actually go to the concert Please sign up for this free program by calling the Kent Memorial Library at 860-668-3896 or at suffield-library.org.
