Bond Commission Okays Funding for Farmington Valley Bike Trail

An incomplete section of the trail in Farmington and Plainville would be finished, creating a path to the Massachusetts border.

A significant gap in the Farmington Valley bike trail may soon close, with the appropriation of $5.1 million from the State Bond Commission, the CT Mirror reported.

A 2.2 mile segment of the trail from Farmington into Plainville has been designated as beneficiary from the appropriation.

The funds will permit paving of a 12-foot wide trail on a railroad right of way owned by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, bridge construction over Route 6 in Farmington and a small parking area near Robertson Airport in Plainville.
