Chinese Cultural Renaissance

When the European renaissance was taking place 6 to 7 centuries ago, very few people knew about it. In fact, the term “renaissance” wasn't coined until the peak of the renaissance had already passed. But now the renaissance of Chinese Culture is happening in our time and we have the opportunity to witness it and be part of it.

Despite the destruction of genuine Chinese culture in the last 60 years, we have witnessed a rebirth. Joyce Li will go over the essence and uniqueness of the traditional Chinese culture, how the rich tradition was interrupted, and how the authentic culture is coming back to the world stage through genuine artistic values and presentation such as Shen Yun Performing Art.

The 1-hour session will include a slide and video presentation as well as a short Chinese dance workshop. The audience will also have a hands-on experience with classical Chinese dance props such as a long ribbon and fans.
