ICED at the Library- author Robert Fitzpatrick

FBI insider Robert Fitzpatrick will speak on June 27th (7:00 p.m.) about his book, Betrayal: Whitey Bulger and the FBI Agent Who Fought to Bring Him Down.  His scope of involvement with the FBI spanned terrorism, kidnapping, organized crime, psychological profiling, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. ROBERT FITZPATRICK spent twenty-plus years as an FBI agent and chief in a career highlighted by his involvement in the Martin Luther King, Jr. killing and the ABSCAM investigation in Miami that resulted in the indictments of numerous public officials. He played a key role in the famed “Mississippi Burning” investigation and recovered the rifle that was used in the MLK assassination and that ultimately led to the arrest of James Earl Ray. He recounts his battle against a corrupt law-enforcement culture that protected one of the nation’s most notorious criminals." An alarming, depressing tale of how law enforcement lost its way, how the insidious line between cop and criminal can be so easily obliterated." (Kirkus Review)

The talk is free, sponsored by The Friends of Kent Memorial Library in Suffield. Please call the library at 860 668-3896 to reserve a seat.
