The Ninth Suffield Fine Art Festival, produced by the Tobacco Valley Artists Association, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, on the lawn of the King House Museum on South Main Street in Suffield. This art show and sale has grown during the past eight years and now features artwork by more than 70 area artists occupying more than 50 booths. Paintings in watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels, pen and ink, colored pencil and many more mediums will be found here, along with fine photographs from some of the area's top photographers.
Artists come from all over New England to display their art here. Along with the artwork, there will be live music, artists painting at the site, cold drinks and refreshments. Admission and parking will be free.
The King House Museum will be open for tours during the art festival. On display is a cigar tobacco exhibit, as Suffield was one of the main sources of tobacco in the Connecticut Valley. The museum also has a large collection of flasks and bottles, tenth anniversary tinware, Bennington pottery and many local items of interest.
The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 1.
