Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Suffield

Winter arrived all of a sudden on Monday, from a temperature standpoint at least, and we’ve got one more brutally cold weather day to deal with before the temps rebound by Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Special Weather Statement” and “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Hartford and Tolland counties as bitterly cold wind chills of 0 to 15 below zero will arrive by mid-morning Tuesday.

For those who love snow, weather.com’s updated 15-day forecast shows no real snow chances except for Jan. 17, when snow and rain is possible. Some sleet is possible late Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Things can always change, but temps will rebound into the 40s later this week and even hit 50 by the weekend.

Next week, temps will be back into the 30s but above freezing and no major precipitation is forecast for now.

Here is the state’s Hour-by-Hour Freezing forecast for Hartford and Tolland counties for Tuesday into Wednesday:

10 a.m.: 12 degrees, feels like 0 degrees

12 p.m.: 19 degrees, feels like 9 degrees

3 p.m.: 25 degrees, feels like 19 degrees

5 p.m.: 23 degrees, feels like 23 degrees

8 p.m.: 20 degrees, feels like 20 degrees

Midnight: 18 degrees, feels like 18 degrees

6 a.m. Wednesday: 15 degrees, feels like 9 degrees

1 p.m.: 37 degrees
