Shape Up Suffield- (New Year Fitness Program) New
Looking for a fun class that offers great motivation to get fit in the New Year? This lunch time strengthening class will focus on toning and building lean muscle. No experience necessary as Instructor will accommodate and modify to suit all of your individual needs and fitness levels. Come learn about your muscles, mechanics and improve even further on your strengths. Take a break from the sedentary work day and join us! Fit - Kit Gliding Express
This 30 minute super intense, low impact class lets you use your entire body for a strength and conditioning workout while using mini gliders that glide over carpet at your feet. Lunchtime Walkers And Snowshoers! (FREE)
Get in shape this winter and keep your Fitness Resolutions this year! Did you know you should be walking 10,000 steps a day? Let’s enjoy the brisk winter weather, get motivated and go on a lunch time walk. All levels and abilities welcome. We will go over warming up, fitness walking and have a fun time getting you re-energized for the rest of the day! We will walk rain, snow or shine so please bring proper winter gear. Even if you can only walk for a half hour, you are encouraged to join the group! Prizes will be awarded to the most dedicated walkers!!

“Who’s at fault for your Golf swing?”- Free Community Lecture
This lecture will teach you how to understand the elements of the “classic” golf swing. We will review current research regarding fitness and golf. We will also review some common swing faults and associated body faults. This lecture is a must for all golfers to help reduce injuries while you are out having fun. The discussion will include ideas on how to improve your swing to maximize your golf and reduce risk of injury.

Children will have a great afternoon while playing a variety of fun board games and delicious snacks after school. This class provides an opportunity for children to “unplug” and have fun with their friends while playing various games. Participants will also enjoy snacks. Children will have a fun afternoon expressing their creativity while making a variety of creative winter themed crafts, decoration projects and treats. Participants will also enjoy Hot Chocolate and Cookies. This class is great for both girls and boys. Some of the crafts include: snowmen and penguin themed cards, crafts and sun catchers. Speed Training Clinic (Grades 3-8)
This clinic offers a great cross training workout for athletes! Participants will learn to perform a proper warm-up before exercise, focus on the best practices of acceleration and change of direction, cool down of static stretches and core exercises. This clinic will help both boys and girls that participate in any sport, looking to enhance coordination, running technique, body weight strength, first step quickness, flexibility, injury prevention, weight loss, and most importantly a better sense of self confidence.

Introduction To Horseback Riding For Children

More Around the World Creativity Tour with Let’s Gogh Art
For new or continuing art explorers! All new projects! Art travelers go on a whirlwind tour of the world, traveling among different countries and cultures. Each week we land somewhere in our amazing world and create wicked cool cultural art using unique materials and imaginative art techniques. We create Huichol yarn creations in Mexico, design decorative fans in Spain and paint tribal puppets in Africa. Back home in the US we head southwest to build tee pees and sculpt Native American story necklaces, then travel south to New Orleans for Mardi Gras mask- making. Fun facts about each country and culture, geography and art history are included. The only thing kids need to pack is their imaginations! *Children may bring a snack to eat during this program.

Cool Art From Far Away Places with Let’s Gogh Art NEW
Grab your passport and climb aboard! In this multi-cultural art exploration program, young art travelers jet from continent to continent and discover amazing art secrets hidden across the globe. Draw African elephants and paint watercolor Sahara backgrounds. Make t-shirts inspired by Panama "molas”, a beautiful form of fabric art. Decorate festive skulls inspired by Mexican “calaveras” and put on a puppet show after sculpting Burmese marionettes out of colorful clay. Art-venturers experience a multitude of materials and techniques, and bring home two- and three-dimensional masterpieces each week as souvenirs from their travels. Babysitter Safety 101
This is an entry level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting concepts. The course focuses on safety with emphasis on prevention. Basic first aid and obstructed airway management for a conscious choking adult/child and infant will be covered. Other topics include hand washing, diapering, bottle feeding, personal safety, interview skills and many more topics. Course is 4 hours, bring a snack. Booklet, handouts and Babysitter Safety Certificate of completion included.

Gymnastics
This introductory gymnastics program will teach boys and girls the basic skills of gymnastics. We will focus on coordination, flexibility and safety. Participants will learn basic skills to develop a good foundation in gymnastics including: Floor Exercise, balance beam, bars, rings and vault. For comfort and safety, girls should wear leotards and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. Buckles, snaps or zippers are not allowed.

Suffield Parks and Recreation offers inclusive Special Needs Programs and Group Outings
These programs foster friendships, socialization, promote community involvement and independence. The group enjoys educational presentations, fitness activities, crafting classes, games and evening trips that are inclusive. We also go on many fun outings throughout the year. The program is for high school students through adult. Enrollment is on a first come first paid basis. Volunteers are always welcome. Bowling Buddies And Outing Group
Enjoy a great evening of bowling and meeting new friends. Get some exercise and have some fun! This is for high school students through adults. Volunteer special partners, coaches and helpers are always needed and welcome!
