• Denied 7-Home Suffield Plan Returns For New Hearing (patch.com) — Suffield residents will get another chance to weigh in on a controversial seven-home subdivision proposed for South Grand Street, as the Conservation Commission accepted a revised application and set a Sept. 22 public hearing. The earlier version was unanimously denied without prejudice over concerns about wetlands, drainage, groundwater, septic layout, and a potential vernal pool, but the developer has now returned with a new plan for review.
   

• 66 Kilos: Weed, politics, and a warehouse in Suffield (insideinvestigator.org) — A Connecticut Supreme Court ruling has cleared the way for a Suffield business to grow and process cannabis at a former tobacco site on South Grand Street, overturning local zoning denials. Justices found the cannabis operation is a legal continuation of the property's prior hemp use, rejecting the town Zoning Board of Appeals' arguments about regulatory differences. The owner also criticizes town officials' past treatment of his plans.
