Spring into Action with Fun Parks and Recreation Programs!

Spring is Almost here! It is time to register for some new, fun programs with the Recreation Department

Exercising? Not getting the results you had hoped for? Join us for free and find out how to balance a good exercise program with healthy, nutrient dense food choices! Once you balance exercising with eating the very best foods you can, you will begin to see the results you are after. This is not about products, potions, pills or pyramid schemes. It is about making a commitment to not only fitness but choosing the best foods, at the right times and in the right amounts! Learn some basic exercise techniques and learn what you can do to stay healthy, active and fit and take charge of 2017! Participants will also learn more about the new lunchtime Spring Shape Up Challenge Class that begins on March 27.

Lunchtime-Get Fit Walking Group (FREE)

Do you want to get in shape and stay motivated? Are you tired of trying to fit your walking in but have excuses of not being able to walk because of lack of time, safety and also not wanting to walk alone? Join our group and make new walking friends and get in shape at the same time. Did you know you should be walking 10,000 steps a day? All levels and abilities welcome. We will go over warming up, fitness walking and have a fun time getting you re-energized for the rest of the day! We will walk rain or shine so please bring proper gear. Even if you can only walk for a half hour, you are encouraged to join the group! Prizes will be awarded to the most dedicated walkers. All ages and abilities welcome including parents with strollers and seniors.

Taking Better Photos - New!

Do you love photography and want to take better photos? This informative program will feature a demonstration and discussions of basic “rules” of composition and focus. Attendees should bring their cameras and manuals. Participants are also encouraged to bring 1 or 2 photographs (prints) for brief comments at the end of class.

Spring Shape Up Challenge - New!

Looking for a fun class that offers great motivation to help you with your fitness resolutions you made back in January? This lunch time strengthening class will focus on toning and building lean muscle. No experience necessary as the Instructor will accommodate and modify to suit all of your individual needs and fitness levels. Come learn about your muscles, mechanics and improve even further on your strengths. Take a break from the sedentary work day and join us! This class offers a great way to get in shape while having fun. Challenge yourself and make your afternoon a fit one!

Fit-Kit - Boxilates

This Fit -Kit class will consist of a combination of both Kickboxing and Mat Pilates. This fused class will give you a strong core as well as a complete cardiovascular workout. The stronger your core, the stronger your kicks and punches will be. You will strengthen your core, get a great cardio workout and learn self-defense moves! This class offers a perfect combination to add to your workout routine.

Fit-Kit - Boxilates Plus - New

This super intense class adds in the low impact moves of gliders to kickboxing and Pilate moves. You use your entire body for a great strength and conditioning workout while using mini gliders that glide over the carpet at your feet. This class offers a great workout and keeps you motivated the entire time!
