
Juliette “Judy” (Brown) Gilbert, 90, of Suffield, beloved wife of the late Wallace G. Gilbert, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.
She was born on Campfield Ave., Hartford, January 25, 1928, to the late John J. and Mary Ellen (Minehan) Brown. She grew up in Hartford and lived 40 years in Manchester, 10 years in South Windsor, followed by being a resident of The Suffield House.
She was very proud of her Irish heritage. Her loving families, the Foley’s, Lynch’s and Minehan’s. Judy graduated from Bulkeley High School. After many years of service at The Travelers, she retired in 1989.

She was an avid fan of the NY Yankees (since she was eight years old) and the UConn women’s basketball team. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mom will be remembered for her positive attitude, contagious laugh and smile.
Judy is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Cathy G. Cicero of South Windsor and Nancy and Wesley Gilbert of Windsor, and her three grandchildren, Kevin, Crystal and Jenna. Her devoted cousins, Trudy and Peter Thompson of Farmington, three sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Russell Gilbert, Jenny Gilbert and Mary Gilbert. She also leaves three special friends, Arlene Hubbard, Lucille Strom and Millie Kozlovic, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Judy will be missed by her cat, Gracie. She was predeceased by her six brothers, Forrest, Frank, John, Richard, Charles and George.

Judy’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of the Suffield House for their excellent care, compassion and kindness provided to her.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 5-8pm, Friday, July 6th, at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. The funeral will be Saturday, July 7th, starting at the funeral home at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, continuing to Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Windsor Volunteer Ambulance, PO Box 508 Windsor, CT 06095.
