Suffield Police Address Solicitor Concerns
All solicitors are required to have their own permits, police say.

Recent concerns about solicitors has prompted Suffield police to issue some clarification to town residents.
On its Facebook page, the Suffield Police Department stated, “Town Ordinance 11-31 et. al. requires that solicitors obtain a permit from the Chief of Police. The applicants undergo a background check prior to the issuance. Town Ordinance requires that each solicitor obtain their own permit (no permits are issued in a company name). They are required to carry the permit and may go door to door between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Residents that have concerns about solicitors or believe that a solicitor is operating without a permit are encouraged to contact Suffield police at 860-668-3870.
