Suffield Police Seeking Recovery of Stolen Oil Painting

The stolen painting is an original signed by Henry Farny, a French-born painter and illustrator who died in 1916.

SUFFIELD, CT - A valuable oil painting was stolen from a Suffield residence last weekend, and police are attempting to find it and the person or persons responsible for its disappearance.

The burglary is believed to have taken place Saturday, May 21. Just one item was taken from the residence: an original oil painting signed by Henry Farny, a French-born painter and illustrator who died in 1916.

Police estimate the value of the painting at $25,000; however, "the sentimental value to our victim is much greater," Det. Justin Fuller said in a written statement.
