Tourney Update: Suffield, Enfield, Ellington Make Semifinals

Two north-central Connecticut teams advanced to state girls soccer semifinals, as did a girls volleyball squad; Rockville volleyball falls.

Suffield, Enfield and Ellington high schools each had tickets punched to the Final Four in state tournament action Friday.

Suffield girls soccer remained unbeaten, shutting out No. 7 Guilford in the Class L quarterfinals. The second-seeded Wildcats take on No. 6 Berlin on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at a location and time to be announced.

In Class M girls soccer, Enfield edged Ellington 1-0 in double overtime to earn a semifinal berth Tuesday, Nov. 17 against top-seeded Woodland.

On the volleyball court, No. 7 Ellington swept No. 18 Haddam-Killingworth 3-0 to earn the right to face No. 6 East Haven in the Class M semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Rockville, the No. 25 seed in Class M which bumped off two higher-ranked opponents in the tournament, finally saw its Cinderella run come to a halt, falling 3-0 to top-seeded Woodland.
