1 Found Dead After Killingworth House Fire: State Police

KILLINGWORTH, CT — State police said one person was found dead after a house fire Thursday night in Killingworth. The incident occurred at approximately 9:46 p.m. at 33 Bridle Path Trail, state police said.

State police said the deceased victim was found inside the home after firefighters extinguished the fire. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an examination to determine the identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, state police said.

Firefighters, the Killingworth Fire Marshal, troopers from Troop F-Westbrook and detectives from the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit (FEIU) all responded to the fire, state police said.

State police said the fire remains under investigation.
