Freer, who is from Haddam, lost her husband of 40 years, Ronald J. Freer, in the accident. After enduring several surgeries to stabilize and repair two spinal cord injuries and multiple orthopaedic injuries, she is now on the long road to recovery. In early October, Judy walked her first 15 and has been making significant progress since that time.
Her family has set up crowdsource fundraiser to help with medical and living expenses and artists participating in the event will be donating a portion of their proceeds to her as well.
