Chain Reaction Day at NHRMS

Part three of a three-part series on how Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School is taking a proactive approach to prevent bullying by promoting a culture of kindness.

The sponsored Chain Reaction Day last Friday at the to provide an opportunity for students to recommit to the pledge made back in October of creating an environment of kindness.

As part of the hour-long assembly, students were reminded of and their promise to promote kindness in their school. The school’s music students, show choir and jazz band performed heart-felt songs related to the theme of the assembly. Faculty and staff even got involved and provided background music for one of the performances.

Each grade was asked to wear an assigned color to the event to show their support of Rachel's Challenge and the Chain Reaction Club.

A slide show of students at the school closed out the hour and reminded students of the positive attitudes they are fostering in their hallways.

The club's next project (now through the fall) will be to create a kindness garden on the grounds of the middle school.
