CT Man Faces Felony DWI After Driving Wrong Way In NY
Police said he had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated within the past 10 years.
HIGGANUM, CT — A wrong-way driver from Connecticut was arrested Sunday in New York and now faces a felony drunken driving charge. New York State Police responded to the area of I-90 in the Town of Canaan, Columbia County, for a report of a possible wrong-way driver around 12:14 a.m. April 29.
Police found a vehicle with one man in it parked facing east in the westbound lane.
The trooper interviewed the driver — Ronald S. Gamache, 47, of Higganum — and found him to be intoxicated.

He was taken to the Albany barracks for processing.
Police said Gamache has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, a felony; reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Gamache was arraigned in the Town of Canaan County and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 bail or $2,000 bond.
He is scheduled to return to court May 2.
