Dial-A-Ride Service Now Offered In Haddam

The regional transit service has expanded to include Haddam

 

Service to Haddam through the regional Dial-A-Ride program began June 1, the Estuary Transit District announced. 

According to the news release, the service is open to the general public and provides transportation to the towns of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Westbrook and now Haddam.

“I am extremely pleased with the inclusion of Haddam into the Estuary Transit District”, Haddam First Selectman Paul Destefano said in the release. 

“Our contract for the Dial-A-Ride services will enable an expansion of our services to all town residents and will create opportunities for employment and education to those who have thus far been unable to commute to their destinations.”

Rides must be reserved one day in advance, the release says, noting that the cost is $3 each way, with discounts offered to seniors.

The service runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
