East Haddam and Haddam Students Dream Big to Win Big
Local students win big in the recent 2011 CHET Dream Big! Competition for Connecticut K-5 students.
Recently, East Haddam and Haddam students were honored by the Connecticut State Treasurer Denise L. Nappier, the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET) and TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. at a ceremony at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
Winners were chosen from over 2,200 drawing and essay entries that were submitted to the 2011 CHET Dream Big! Competition by Connecticut K-5 students.
County winners won a $250 CHET 529 college savings plan and Merit winners won a $50 CHET 529 college savings plan.

The CHET Dream Big! Competition is a drawing and writing contest for students in grades K-5 throughout Connecticut. The goal of the competition is to inspire students’ artistic expression and motivate them to “dream big” about their future after college.
The Competition also strives to create an opportunity for CHET to emphasize the importance of saving for college early on.
