East Haddam Schools Delay Opening

Due to the loss of power in East Haddam, all schools will remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Schools are currently scheduled to re-open on Thursday for all staff and students, pending power restoration.  For status updates, call the town hall at 860-873-5021 or emergency operations at the senior center at 860-873-5304.

On Sunday, Hurricane Irene caused widespread damage along the east coast. By the time Irene hit East Haddam, it had been downgraded to a tropical storm. As a result of damage from the storm, the town of East Haddam has been without power since early Sunday morning and remains at a loss of 100% as of Monday night.
