Residents are set to vote on a plan to purchase more than 100 acres of open space.

EAST HADDAM, CT — Residents will vote next week on a more than $300,000 town plan to purchase 100 acres of open space, according to The Middletown Press. The Mullazi property is a 124-acre parcel located on O'Connell Road Extension on the northeast side of town.
Residents will vote Oct. 5 on whether $328,000 should be spent on the property. East Haddam officials said the property could be developed into at least a dozen houses but that the town wants to protect it as part of its Plan of Conservation and Development.
