The Department Of energy And Environmental Protect sponsored many hikes across the state on New years Day!
An easy two mile hike at Haddam Meadows State Park was one of them.
Participants walked along the Ct. River and learned about geology, floodplain habitats, and human impact on landscape.
They also stopped by and had a tour the Butterfly Area of the Park:
