Goodspeed Performers offering Master Classes in Killingworth

Evan Mayer and Sarah Quinn Taylor , currently performing in Goodspeed Musicals’ production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, will teach two days of master classes in dance at The Dance Corner of Killingworth this month.

On Saturday, June 24th, The Dance Corner will offer two master classes starting at 10:15am. Musical Theatre Dance, 10:15-11:30am and Tap 11:40am-12:40pm will be taught by Evan Mayer.

Mr. Mayer is currently performing at Goodspeed Opera House in Thoroughly Modern Millie directed and choreographed by Tony Nominee Denis Jones. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Evan is a proud graduate of the BFA Musical Theatre program at Indiana University. He recently completed National Tour of A Christmas Story with original choreography by Warren Carlyle and the International Tour of My Fair Lady (Harry) working under Denis Jones and Jeffery Moss. Off-Broadway Credits: Babes in Arms and Out of this World! Regional Credits: Cabaret (Max/Hans) at Cape Playhouse, Ragtime and Mary Poppins at Westchester Broadway Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof (Motel), Les Miserables, and Legally Blonde with Music Theatre Wichita. While in school he spent two years recording and performing with IU’s Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers as a featured soloist and dancer, with notable performances in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Evan studied dance at his local studio Danceworks Milwaukee while growing up and currently works with choreographers throughout New York City including Liza Gennaro, Richard Stafford, and Randy Skinner.

Sarah Quinn Taylor will teach two master classes on Monday June 26th- Musical Theatre Dance from 5:30-6:45pm and Tap, 6:55-7:55pm.

Sarah Quinn Taylor grew up in Wichita, Kansas and caught the musical theatre bug early with Music Theatre Wichita in her backyard! She continued her education at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with distinction earning a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance and a minor in Non-Profit Organizational Studies. Regionally, Sarah has worked at Goodspeed Opera House, the MUNY, St. Louis Repertory Theatre, MTWichita and Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Favorite credits include: Young Sally (Follies), Cosette (Les Miserables), Janet Van de Graff (The Drowsy Chaperone), Chris Hargensen (Carrie the Musical), Marjorie Harvey (Bernice Bobs Her Hair), and Arista (Disney's The Little Mermaid).

All master classes are open to dancers ages 9 and up, with previous dance experience. Master classes will include choreography from Thoroughly Modern Millie as well as other productions Mr. Mayer and Ms. Taylor have performed in. The master class fee is $20 per class.
