How The Haddams, Killingworth Voted In 2018 Primary Election

Here is how Haddam, East Haddam and Killingworth residents voted in last night's primary elections.

HADDAM, CT — The battle to succeed Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in November will come down to Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski. Lamont whalloped his primary challenger Joseph Ganim by 171,658 to 39,854, while Stefanowski earned 41,957 votes followed by Mark D. Boughton, 30,457, David Stemerman, 26,266, Tim Herbst, 25,091, and Steve Obstinik, 19,119.

For Lieutenant Governor, Democrat Susan Bysiewicz defeated Eva Zimmerman by a margin of 129,484 to 78,870 and on the Republican side Joe Markley defeated Erin Stewart and Jayme Stevenson. Markley earned 65,702 votes, Stewart, 45,258 and Stevenson, 27,138.

Other big winners from across the state last night include: Matthew Corey who won his GOP primary to run for U.S. Senate against Chris Murphy, and in the 5th District congressional primary former Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes defeated her challenger Mary Glassman while on the Republican side Manny Santos defeated Ruby Corby-O’Neil and Rich DuPont.

Democrats picked William Tong to run for State Attorney General and Republicans picked Sue Hatfield. For Treasurer Democrats voted for Shawn Wooden and Republican choose Thad Gray.

Locally, in Haddam on the Democratic side, Lamont received 572 votes and Ganim 77, Bysiewicz earned 394 and Zimmerman 248.

In East Haddam, Lamont received 565 votes and Ganim 72, Bysiewicz earned 415 and Zimmerman 219.

In Killingworth, Lamont received 394 votes and Ganim 41, Bysiewicz earned 274 and Zimmerman 158.

Locally, in Haddam on the Republican side, Boughton received 93 votes, Herbst, 189, Obstinik, 71, Stefanowski, 149, and Stemerman, 94 votes. Markley received 265 votes, Stewart, 214 and Stevenson, 102.

In East Haddam, Boughton received 79 votes, Herbst, 150, Obstinik, 85, Stefanowski, 160, and Stemerman, 109 votes. Markley received 277 votes, Stewart, 205 and Stevenson, 93.

In Killingworth, Boughton received 73 votes, Herbst, 126, Obstinik, 51, Stefanowski, 162, and Stemerman, 67 votes. Markley received 194 votes, Stewart, 168 and Stevenson, 101.
