Killingworth, Haddam, East Haddam State Aid Cut By Malloy

All three towns would see reductions in their 2019 fiscal year allocations if budget reductions Malloy proposed Monday are approved.

The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

East Haddam would take a 10 percent cut - or $391,621. Previously East Haddam was supposed to get $4 million in 2019; Now, Malloy wants to give the town $3.6 million. In Haddam, the cut is also 10 percent - or $234,028. The town was expecting $2.3 million; Malloy is now proposing $2.1 million.

In Killingworth, the cut would be 1 percent - or $178,895. Malloy is proposing the town receive $17.2 million instead of the original $17.4 million.
