School Update: East Haddam Schools
School will begin on Tuesday for East Haddam students with a two-hour delayed opening.
Schedule for the First Day of School: All East Haddam schools and offices will open on Tuesday, September 6th.
Please note the following schedule for Tuesday:
All support staff will report following a standard opening schedule.

Pre-K – 5 teachers should report to school for 8:30 a.m. building meetings.
6-12 teachers should report to school for 7:30 a.m. building meetings.

All East Haddam students will follow a two-hour delayed opening schedule.
AM Kindergarten will arrive at school at 10:50 a.m. AM Kindergarten dismissal from school will be at 12:45 p.m.
PM Kindergarten will arrive at school at 1:15 p.m. PM Kindergarten dismissal from school will be at 3:25 p.m.
Note: Out of town bus transportation will follow a 2 hour delayed schedule for Tuesday.
Elementary school doors will be open to students at 10:00 a.m. for students transported by families.
Bus routes are posted on our district website and in local newspapers.
All students and staff will follow a standard opening schedule for Wednesday, September 7th.
School Activities: Regularly scheduled sports and school activities will commence on Tuesday, September 6th.
Freshman Orientation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the High School on Wednesday September 7th in the auditorium.
Fourth Grade Meet and Greet will be held at the Middle School on Thursday, September 8th from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
First Day Celebration is now Fourth Day Celebration and it will be held at the Middle School on Friday, September 9th at the originally scheduled time.
Precautionary Water Safety Protocol: As a precautionary measure, the East Haddam School District is required by the Connecticut Department of Public Health to follow a well water safety protocol, due to the loss of power and well water pressure to the schools. This precautionary protocol insures that all school drinking water remains safe and contaminant-free. While we are taking these required precautionary measures, all elementary and middle school students and staff will be provided with bottled water throughout the first few days of school.
