Here are the top three stories today in The Haddams-Killingworth:
- According to the East Haddam town website, tree removal work will take place this week at Lake Shores Drive starting today. Work will be ongoing from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eversource will be removing hazardous trees and there will be road closures. Lake Shore Drive from Laurel Lane to Hayfield will be impassable. Signage will be in place and traffic will be detoured from Lake Shore Drive to Wildwood and Hayfield. (Town of East Haddam)

According to a recent e-list article, this extraordinary campground, "tucked amongst the dense trees and winding roads of rural East Haddam is Getaway, a modern spin on the traditional campground in the neighborhood of Machimoodus. - There’s interesting news about Connecticut's housing market and how it compares to others throughout the country. Reportedly, the state's strong housing market could be heading toward a decline, according to a new report from real estate data curator ATTOM. Interest rates on 30-year mortgages have climbed to 6 percent, worsening affordability for prospective homebuyers and home sales have declined every month in 2022. Home-price appreciation continues to show signs of retreating rapidly, according to the report. (Patch)
