Virginia "Ginny" Robida Passes Away at 69
A lady of strong spirit with lots of love and laughter to share.

Virginia “Ginny” (Gates) Robida of East Haddam, passed away on August 26, 2012.
Ginny was born July 2, 1943 to the late Vincent and Evelyn (Haskel) Gates and spent her life in the East Haddam and Moodus area.

She married Theodore Robida, the love of her life, who survives her, on August 12, 1961.
Ginny is also survived by her two children, Annette Carey of Colchester and Theodore Robida, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Clinton, as well as grandchildren, Glenn, Shauna, Timothy, David, Brian, Sean, Margaritta, Theodore III, Virginia, and Brandon.

Ginny leaves behind her siblings, Harry and Lyn Gates of Ledyard, Connecticut, Charles and Kathy Gates of Florida, Patricia Neudecker of Moodus, Connecticut, Richard Gates of Centerbrook, Connecticut and Holly and David Fischer of Florida.
In-laws who survive her include Robert and Althea Robida of Massachusetts, William and Betty-Jo Robida of Moodus, Connecticut, Joseph and Charlotte Robida of Connecticut and Florida, Arlene and Robert Johnson of East Hampton, Connecticut....Marie and Charlie Nichols of East Hampton, Connecticut and Joanie and Michael Wind of Maine. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends, her kindness, generosity and her cheerful outlook on life.
She was never afraid to speak her own mind or share her opinions.
Her willingness to help others and share everything from her wonderful cooking or baking expertise... to providing a friendly welcome to all... are only a small part of her legacy.
Her warm smile, her love of family and her strength carried Ginny through life.
She will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St, Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday, prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral home.
