Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center is partnering with the Town of Madison, the Madison Chamber of Commerce, Madison Beach Hotel, Scranton Seahorse Inn and Tidewater Inn to bring about a new way for people to explore the town through the Madison Bike Share program.

This collaborative initiative will allow locals and tourists the opportunity to rent a bicycle and discover the town on two wheels during the spring, summer and early fall months. The bicycles will be serviced at least once a week by a Vista student employee.

“The new Bike Share Program is a wonderful illustration of how Chambers of Commerce can work with the municipal government, Chamber business members and local not-for-profits,” said Eileen Banisch, executive director of the Madison Chamber. “The synergy created by melding the assets and ideas of all the groups has produced what we hope will be a popular program that will benefit all.”

Inspired by successful bike share programs across the state, the Madison Bike Share is planned to run from May 22 through October. Individuals 18 and over will be able to rent a bike for a 24-hour period for $10. Helmets and locks will also be provided.
