2 Men Charged In East Lyme Credit Card Fraud Case: Police

Police searched the men's vehicle and found about $1,800 in Starbucks merchandise, along with receipts from Starbucks in several states.

EAST LYME, CT — Two men were charged with fraud on allegations that they used a Delaware woman's credit card at an East Lyme Starbucks, according to police. Police were dispatched to the Starbucks on Flanders Road on Thursday at 7:51 p.m. for a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card.

Store staff members were alerted by the victim who found there had been unauthorized charges to her card at the East Lyme Starbucks. The two men were attempting to pick up fraudulently purchased items as well as return other merchandise from other Starbucks stores, according to police.

Police said they later learned that the two men were seen at other Starbucks in southeastern Connecticut pulling the same scam.

A Far Rockaway, NY man was charged with fourth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny, charging more than $500 on a revoked payment card, receipt from an illegally used credit card, third-degree identity theft, and misdemeanor conspiracy.
