2 Men Charged After Pursuit In Niantic Involving Stolen Vehicle: PD
Two men fled from police on foot, one of them shoe-less, in freezing weather Saturday morning. Both men had warrants out for their arrest.
EAST LYME, CT — Two men who had multiple warrants out for their arrest were taken into custody Saturday, according to police.
East Lyme officers received a report of a stolen motor vehicle out of the City of Groton at the parking lot of the Aderi Hotel at 239 Flanders Road in Niantic at 2:30 a.m.
Police investigated and found the room where the alleged suspects were staying.

Officers knocked on the door. The suspects fled using an interior window at the rear of the hotel, according to police.
Police pursued the suspects on foot. Residents in Woodridge Condominiums called police to report a man running through their neighborhood at 3:02 a.m. Police then caught Timothy Douchette, 40, of Uncasville.

Police brought in assistance from other departments to establish a perimeter and locate the second suspect. Police searched the heavily wooded area in temperatures around 15 degrees for an extended period.
A concerned citizen in the Deerfield Village Condominium neighborhood reported a barefoot man in a T-shirt had knocked on their door requesting assistance at 4:46 a.m. Police responded and the suspect again attempted to flee on foot.
Police took Nicholas Marcoux, 39, of Branford, into custody at 4:56 a.m.
Douchette refused medical treatment. Marcoux was transported by ambulance to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Douchette had four warrants out for his arrest. He was charged with failure to appear in court, second-degree larceny, and drug charges. He was held on $70,100 cash-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
Marcoux had two warrants out for his arrest in Connecticut and one extraditable warrant out for his arrest in Rhode Island. He was charged with fugitive of justice, failure to appear in court, and drug charges. He was held on $335,000 cash-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
