Arrest Made In Fatal July 2019 Car Versus Motorcycle Crash

A 37-year-old Niantic woman is being charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI in the death of Frank A Barabas Jr., 42, of Oakdale.

EAST LYME, CT — Frank A. Barabas Jr. was killed in July when he and his motorcycle was hit by a car police say was driven by Kimberly Zoller. Now, police have charged the 37-year-old Niantic woman with second-degree vehicular manslaughter in the death of Barabas, 42, of Oakdale.

On July 28, at around 4:45 p.m. the East Lyme Police Department received the report of a car versus motorcycle accident in the area of 516 Boston Post Road. Barabas was pronounced dead at the scene. Zoller, who was not named at the time, was taken to L + M Hospital for treatment.

East Lyme police said that as a result of an investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Zoller today, Thursday Oct. 10. She posted a court set $25,000 bond and was released. She's due back in court Oct. 24.
