Decision Reached On Proposed East Lyme Costco Location: Report
The warehouse store chain has a half-dozen locations in Connecticut.

EAST LYME, CT — Costco, the large price club retailer with a half-dozen warehouse locations in Connecticut, has decided to pull out of a plan to open a store in the Gateway Commons site in East Lyme, reports The Day.
The retailer did not give developers of the site off exit 74 of I-95 a specific reason for pulling out. But Newton Brainard, vice president of Sikon Development Corp., told the publication that it could be due to the headwinds brick-and-mortar stores are currently facing.
With the pullout, Sikon has begun marketing the site to find a new anchor tenant. Costco also pulled out of a planned Branford location earlier this year, but this month indicated that it may be looking at another location in that town.
