East Lyme Police K9 Jimo Passes Away

EAST LYME, CT—Heartbreaking for the department and especially his partner, the East Lyme Police Department announced the sudden passing of K9 Jimo.

"It is with great sadness," police wrote in their announcement "the sudden passing of K9 Jimo."

Jimo was 9-years-old and a "loyal partner to Officer Michael Jezierski."

Police said Jimo passed away late Tuesday, July 23 "due to illness."

"K9 Jimo faithfully served the Town of East Lyme, its citizens, and his handler from February 2012 through July 2019," police wrote. "Our thoughts are with Officer Jezierski and his family in this difficult time."

"Thank you for your dedicated service to our community, Jimo," police wrote. "RIP."
