East Lyme Resident Honored By PACE Organization of R.I.

Deborah Moscufo-Barner was named a Silent Star Employee.

From PACE: PACE Organization of Rhode Island (PACE®), a health plan serving older adults who wish to maintain their independence and live in the community, announced on Tuesday December 4th, that they have chosen East Lyme Resident Deborah Moscufo-Barner as a recipient of their Silent Star Award for 2018. the organization uses this time to recognize, and honor, the outstanding community partners, educational organizations, business partners, staff, and caregivers that have helped PACE throughout the year.

Moscufo-Barner joined PACE Westerly as a Registered Nurse two years ago. Prior to that, she was an LPN educator at the Stone Academy in West Haven, Connecticut, and has served in various nursing and nurse supervision positions at area medical facilities including Beacon Hospice, and the Connecticut Hospital at Branford. She studied to be an AAS Registered Nurse at the Community College of Philadelphia, and earned her Master of Science in Nursing/Health Care Education from the University of Phoenix.

“This award goes to hardworking staff members whose efforts are not always seen, but are essential. Deborah works extremely hard for the betterment of both our organization and our participants,” says Jennifer Young, Day Center Director of PACE Westerly. “We find it important to reflect on our accomplishments from the past year, and show gratitude to community partners and employees at our annual meeting,” continues Young. “Through proper acknowledgement of our employees’ efforts, among many other tactics, PACE is able to grow and make positive changes to help us better serve our participants and communities.”
