Power Slowly Being Restored In East Lyme: Update
Monday's storm knocked out power to thousands of local Eversource customers, but crews were working to restore it. See the video.

EAST LYME, CT — About 20 percent of East Lyme remained without power Monday evening, Oct. 30, following storms that swept through Connecticut Sunday night and Monday morning, and First Selectman Mark Nickerson says it will be days before all power is restored.
Nickerson took to YouTube Monday to relay the message from Eversource that a significant number of wires are down throughout the state that will take a while to re-route. See the video below.
"This is going to be a multi-day event for cleanup," said Nickerson. "Don't think that your power's going to come right back on. Multi-day event this is what they're telling us."

Crews are working to restore power, and about 2,100 Eversource customers were without power in East Lyme as of about 6:30 p.m., according to the utility company. About 500 customers each in Lyme and Old Lyme were without power.
"As you have observed, in many locations our roadways are covered with branches, leaves and other debris. Please use caution as you travel and remain observant for hazards," wrote East Lyme police on Facebook.
