Patch previously reported on Sheppard, a 2005 Berlin High School graduate, being charged with injuring her infant daughter by shaking the child in September 2010. An extensive investigation led to Sheppard’s arrest in March 2011.
Shepard was an EMT with Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Reports at the time said the baby might never walk or talk and could be blind as a result of the traumatic injuries she suffered.
