Old Lyme Man Creates Jewelry, Gets Support from Community After Liver Cancer Diagnosis

A man seeking a donor for a liver transplant has seen strong support from the community since his diagnosis.

OLD LYME, CT - The community is reaching out to help an Old Lyme man in need of a liver transplant, The Day reported.

Rob Wallace, 52, lives in Old Lyme with his wife, Lori, and three children, according to The Day. He has been focusing on creating handmade jewelry pieces and artwork since being diagnosed with liver cancer in late 2015.

Though listed on the United Network for Organ Sharing list, it could take up to two years for Wallace to receive a liver offer, The Day reported. Volunteers have helped them with publicity and rides in the meantime, as well as surprising the family with Christmas treats over the holidays.
