State marine experts say such southern species are appearing more often as waters warm, and they're urging people in Lyme and nearby shoreline towns to keep a safe distance and report sightings.

State Poised To Approve Funding For Playground In East Lyme (patch.com) — Families in Lyme and nearby towns may soon see a new inclusive playground at Flanders Elementary School in East Lyme, with the State Bond Commission set to vote on $650,000 in funding. State leaders and the Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut say the project will create a space where children of all abilities can play and socialize together.

East Lyme Inclusive Playground Project Set For State Bond Commission Vote (patch.com) — Residents of Lyme and surrounding communities could benefit from a proposed inclusive playground at Flanders Elementary School in East Lyme, now headed for a State Bond Commission vote. Supporters, including Gov. Ned Lamont and the Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut, emphasize that the project will welcome children with and without disabilities to play together in one accessible space.
