Police Investigate Threat Against East Lyme Schools
The threat was made on social media.

EAST LYME, CT — East Lyme police are investigating a shooting threat made against East Lyme schools that officials discovered over social media, the department announced.
Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Newton wrote a letter to parents Monday stating that the threat is "fictitious" and originated from a social media account in California. The threat resembles an unfounded bomb threat the district received on Oct. 9, also from a California account.
"This current fictitious threat did not identify a specific school, but we take any and all threats seriously," wrote Newton.
