EAST LYME, CT—Thursday afternoon, an astute off-duty East Lyme Police officer saw a young man at the McDonald's at Flanders Four Corners and recognized him knowing the 18-year-old had four active warrants, all for failing to appear in court.

Other East Lyme officers arrived and when they asked the teen his name, he claimed to be someone else.

As police were trying to confirm his identify, he took off running through the fast food parking lot, across four lanes of traffic on busy Boston Post Road and into the swampy woods behind Latimer Brook Commons. But an East Lyme officer was right behind him and took him into custody.
