11/21/2021 – ATTENTION: As you may be aware, President Biden approved a major disaster declaration on October 30th, due to the damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in early September. Any renter, homeowner or business owners that were substantially impacted by flooding from Ida and who reside within New London or Fairfield Counties are eligible to apply. This declaration will provide much-needed financial assistance for many within our county.

Those who have uninsured or underinsured losses can apply with FEMA in one of three ways: online at disasterassistance.gov, via the FEMA app, or call 800-621-3362(TTY: 800-462-7585). If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service. Multilingual operators are available.

East Lyme Emergency Management has made arrangements with FEMA and the SBA (Small Business Administration) to provide in person support. If you do not have online access or need assistance with your residential or business application, representatives from FEMA and the SBA will be at the East Lyme Town Hall, upper-level main meeting room tomorrow, Wednesday, 11/10/21 from 11:00AM – 5:00PM and again on Friday, 11/12/2021 from 12:00PM – 7:00PM.
