Upcoming Spring Events & Exhibitions at the Lyme Art Association
Come enjoy fabulous art exhibits this spring in LAA's sky-lit gallery

Known for its delightful array of representational art created by its member artists, the Lyme Art Association (LAA) is showcasing another year of fabulous art exhibits this spring in its sky-lit gallery. Through April 10 is An Exhibition in Five Acts, one of LAA’s most dynamic shows because it brings together five distinct types of representational art in one exhibit. This year’s 5 acts are “This Land is Your Land,” Animal Kingdom, Stillness: A Still Life, Abstracted, and Faces & Figures. On view from April 17 – May 29, comes the return of LAA’s gorgeous seascape and sea life exhibit, Ship to Shore: A Marine Show, along with a Jacqueline Stella solo show, and a new show, A Closer Look, that celebrates observation, detail, and discovery.
Additionally, LAA has exciting community programming and educational courses coming this spring. On March 23 and April 27, Represent!, LAA’s family book & art program, is happening at the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library. On May 16, LAA celebrates the beauty of Old Lyme's "American Giverny" with its Spring Soiree, which is a fundraising cocktail party of art, live jazz, and fine cuisine. On June 7, LAA’s sporty fundraiser, Swing for Art, returns, but this time as the entertaining fun sport, Pickleball. Other upcoming community art programs include an art talk and book signing with Kelli Folsom on April 25, and a plein air painting demonstration with William Duffy on May 9.
Lastly, in addition to LAA’s great selection of studio classes and online courses, it offers wonderful workshops for all art levels. On March 21, learn to paint land & seascapes in oil with palette knife & brush with Howard Park & Lisa Miceli; on May 2 – 3, learn to paint small still lifes using a simple alla prima approach with Kelli Folsom; plein air paint in Old Lyme with Caleb Stone on May 16 – 17; or plein air paint with William P. Duffy on June 6 – 7. With this rich array of spring programming, the Lyme Art Association is the place “where art lives” for families, artists and art lovers.
