• Thomaston spent $150K fighting FOIAs from single resident, and keeps losing (insideinvestigator.org) — Thomaston officials have spent nearly $150,000 on legal fees fighting Freedom of Information complaints brought by resident Nancy Griswold, most of which she has won. Much of the cost stems from disputes with the Planning and Zoning Commission over access to records and open-meeting rules, with state FOI commissioners repeatedly siding with Griswold and even fining the town for mishandling requests.
