Ambulance Rear-Ended in Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A Tolland Ambulance was rear-ended on Wednesday as it returned from a call, fire officials said.

The crash took place at about 8:30 p.m. on the Old Post Road near the intersection of Wonderview, fire officials said.

The ambulance had just returned to town from a medical call when it was rear ended, fire officials said.

Two Tolland EMS staffers were transported to Rockville General Hospital for evaluation, fire officials said. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported for evaluation, fire officials said.

The ambulance will be out of service for an extended period of time, fire officials said.
