Bed Liner Flies Off Pickup, Hits Tractor-Trailer in Tolland: Report

The incident was on Interstate-84, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A tractor-trailer was hit by a flying pickup truck bed liner on Interstate-84, state police said.

The crash took place on Sunday at 12:10 p.m., state police said. The tractor-trailer was cruising along the westbound side of I-84 just beofore Exit 67 when its left-side mirror was hit by the bed liner, according to occupants, James and Denise Williams of Conway, AZ.

The Ford pickup was being driven by Jacob Marinel of Northbridge, MA, state police said.

Marinel told police that support brackets must have come loose on the bed and then the liner flew off his truck, according to an accident report.

State police received several calls about the bed liner sitting in the highway.
