TOLLAND, CT — A complaint by a Tolland resident led to charges against a New Jersey solar energy contractor, state police said.

On April 6, the contractor surrendered to authorities in Connecticut to answer a charge that he employed a non-registered salesman to act on his behalf.

He posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville superior court on April 29, according to an arrest warrant.

The Tolland resident told state police that she expected a full working solar system to be installed installed when she signed a contract, but then found out key elements were not included and that it would cost thousands in add-ons to get things operating correctly, according to a warrant.
