Car Slams Into DOT Truck On I-84, Worker Thrown From Cab: Report
A state DOT worker was thrown from a truck after a car slammed into it on a stretch of highway in Tolland, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — State police have released a report on a Tuesday highway crash in which a car slammed into a working state Department of Transportation truck.
The crash took place at 12:04 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate-84 near Exit 68, according to a report.
The DOT truck, which had a warning trailer attached, was parked on the right shoulder among what state police described as "clearly visible" additional work zone signs, according to a report. A 56-year-old DOT staffer was climbing into the truck's cab at the driver's side door when the truck was hit by a 2014 Nissan Murano driven by 65-year-old Massachusetss man.

The DOT worker was thrown from the truck and landed on the ground, according to a report.
State police said ample warning signs were posted in advance of the work zone. Mowing was taking place in the work zone, according to a report.

No charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
The DOT worker was taken to Rockville General Hospital after he complained of pain to his head, neck, back and legs, accordingto a report. No other injuries were reported.
