Car Smashes into Crosswalk Signal in Tolland

A car took out a crosswalk signal at a busy Tolland intersection.

TOLLAND, CT — The driver of a 2012 Mustang that rammed a crosswalk signal on Saturday at one of the busiest intersections in Tolland is facing a drunken driving charge, state police said.

The crash took place 25 minutes before midnight on Merrow Road about 50 feet north of the Goose Lane intersection, according to a state police report. Brandon Dorsey, 26, was heading south and lost control of the car, according to a report.

The car hit a traffic sign and then the crosswalk signal, according to a report.

Dorsey failed a sobriety test at the scene and was arrested, state police said.
